West Street, Biddeford Update, 9/23/14

UPDATE, West Street main replacement project, Biddeford: Unfortunately we were not able to complete all the work scheduled for last night. We were able to make the new connection with Hill Street Ext but not the second connection with Hill Street.

We made the decision to delay the second 8” connection to Hill Street until this evening. We realized that the effort to complete the second connection and get the intersection rebuilt for Tuesday morning traffic would not have been completed before 6am and thus disrupt the school and work traffic that we were trying to avoid effecting.

Tuesday 9/23 – Hill Street; We will notify customers in the Hill Street area of their water being turned off this evening from 8pm to 3am.The intersection of Hill Street and West Street will be closed through the construction period (7pm-3am), except for Emergency vehicles. A plan for detouring traffic during the evening construction period has been discussed and worked out with the Police Department, Fire Department and the Public Works Department and will be implemented by our Contractor.

Tuesday Evening – Wednesday 9/24 early morning.
